Good Morning Britain Susanna Reid’s career to date after Boris Johnson interview

Susanna Reid took Boris Johnson to task on Good Morning Britain in an interview in which she grilled the PM on everything from the country’s stance on Ukraine to his own reputation. But the presenter has long been on our screens and has presented a host of news and morning shows.

In her current role, Susanna is a lead presenter on ITV’s Good Morning Britain, where she works alongside Ben Shephard and Kate Garraway. She previously shared a desk with Piers Morgan on the show.

In her interview with Boris Johnson, Susanna quizzed the Prime Minister on the Government’s decision not to offer visa-free travel for those fleeing Ukraine to the UK. She also asked Mr Johnson whether he is “honest” after long-running allegations that he is a liar.

Susanna Reid’s early life

Susanna Reid is a journalist and presenter best known for her work presenting ITV’s Good Morning Britain. She works alongside Ben Shephard and Kate Garraway and previously shared the screen with Piers Morgan.

She is the youngest of three children and was born in 1970 in Croydon. She attended Croydon High School and then St Paul’s Girl School in London but then went on to study Politics and Philosophy at the University of Bristol, where she edited the student newspaper, Epigram. She then trained at Cardiff University’s Centre for Journalism.

Susanna Reid’s stellar career

Her career began BBC Radio Bristol but Susanna then went on to join Radio 5 Live as a reporter and then a producer. A later move saw her join BBC News 24 as a presenter before she worked her way up into a presenter role.

In 2001 she landed a TV job as one of the main presenters on BBC Breakfast alongside Bill Turnbull. While still working for BBC Breakfast she also took on a new role on the short-lived show Sunday Morning Live.

But her journalism career also saw her work as a newsreader on The Andrew Marr Show. When Mr Marr suffered a stroke in 2013 she stepped in to present the main show.

In 2014 it was revealed that Susanna would be moving to Good Morning Britain, a new morning show designed to compete with the BBC’s morning coverage. She continues to host the show between 6am and 9am.

Susanna also competed in Strictly Come Dancing in 2013. However, she was knocked out early and finished 11th.

In 2014, it was reported that ITV had offered Susanna a £1m salary to join its new show Good Morning Britain. According to the Express, her net worth is estimated to be £7.3m.
