For the third year in a row, the Kentwood Career Center partnered with Central Washington University (CWU) to host an on-the-spot admissions event for their students. During the event, students can apply, have their transcripts, test scores, and personal statements reviewed, and be offered admission to CWU. At this year’s event, 15 students were accepted and offered admissions to the university.

Events like these help students realize their college dreams and not get overwhelmed or discouraged by the longer traditional application process. Initiatives like these are especially beneficial for first-generation college students and their families who may not be familiar with the process. Similar events will also be held at other high schools in Kent School District, please reach out to your school’s counseling office for more information.
