Ambulances trapped in traffic due to Margate roadworks

Images show that emergency services vehicles appear to have been getting caught in traffic due to ongoing roadworks.

Two ambulances were spotted caught up in a jam in Margate as traffic was heavy due to emergency repairs.

Roadworks have begun on a gas main which has closed a major key road in Marine Terrace, Margate, just outside of Dreamland on the seafront.

Marine Terrace has been closed off in both directions which caused havoc on the roads, as well as affecting ambulances who were travelling in the area.

Diversions are in place but delays have shown to build up , making it difficult for some vehicles to go through.

It has not yet been confirmed how long the repairs will take as work is being carried out around the clock.

Bus services are also being affected so for anyone planning on passing through the area may want to plan their route ahead.

Diversion signs are in place using Belgrave Road, Ramsgate Road, Margate Road, Park Road, A299 Canterbury Road and the A28.
