Appeal launched after a pedestrian died on the A2 near Dartford

Kent Police are appealing for information after a woman in her 60s died on the A2 near Dartford.

Officers were called at 12.25am on Sunday, November 7, to a location on the A2 coastbound carriageway, where the incident occurred.

When they arrived at the scene, which was close to the junction for the A2018, at Old Bexley Lane, they found the woman.

Ambulance crews were also called but the woman was declared deceased at the scene.

Her next of kin have now been informed.

Officers from Kent Police have now launched an investigation to determine the circumstances that led to the woman’s death.

In a statement, Kent Police said: “Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are working to establish the full circumstances and are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.

“This includes motorists in the area who may have important footage on dashcams.”
