Fire displaces family of five from downtown Kent home

A two-alarm fire at a Kent home displaced five people Monday evening, June 27 in the 700 block of Railroad Avenue South.

Firefighters responded at about 6:09 p.m., according to a June 28 email from Puget Sound Fire Division Chief Pat Pawlak. About 15 units responded from Puget Sound Fire, Renton Regional Fire Authority, Valley Regional Fire Authority, King County Medic One and Zone 3 Fire Cadets.

It took 50 minutes to extinguish the fire, Pawlak said. Nobody was injured. Red Cross assisted the family with immediate needs.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
