Firefighters extinguish two-alarm blaze at Kent warehouse

About 30 firefighters from 10 fire department units extinguished a July 6 two-alarm Kent warehouse fire in approximately one hour.

Firefighters responded at about 8:32 p.m. to Uresco Construction Materials Inc., 8246 S. 194th St., according to Puget Sound Fire spokesperson Pat Pawlak. The warehouse is used to store building materials.

“The fire protection sprinkler system activated and controlled the fire until firefighters were able to extinguish it,” Pawlak said. “The sprinkler system limited the amount of damage the fire would have caused.”

Nobody was injured, Pawlak said. The warehouse was closed at the time of the fire.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation.

Puget Sound Fire, Renton Regional Fire Authority and Tukwila Fire Department responded to the fire.
