Librarian Nathan Sun-Kleinberger received a grant from the Kent Schools Foundation to purchase STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) related picture books for the Mill Creek Middle School library.

Mr. Sun-Kleinberger will visit Michele Lagueux’s math classes every week to share the books and inspire students to pursue science, technology, engineering, arts, and math careers after graduation.

Students will reflect on how these books tie to STEAM and social-emotional learning (SEL) in pictures and words in graffiti journals. The hope is students will comprehend how their math course work applies to the outside world and make connections to each other through shared stories.
