Taylor Swift has hit the headlines in recent weeks after releasing some new music.
The pop star recently released a re-recording of Red, her wildly popular 2012 album that had hits like ’22’, ‘We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together’, and ‘I Knew You Were Trouble’.
The album was recorded in the wake of her break-up with Jake Gyllenhaal, so there has been a lot of recent focus on her famous ex-boyfriend.

However, her current boyfriend is a lot closer to home for us in Kent.
While Nightcrawler star Jake Gyllenhaal is a household name across the world, fewer people will have heard of Taylor’s current boyfriend; actor Joe Alwyn.
Fewer still will know that his life started out with humble beginnings in Tunbridge Wells.
Joe, 30, is a famous actor but he pales in comparison to global star Taylor.
The pair probably first met at the 2016 Met Gala; fans think that Taylor’s 2017 song ‘Dress’ references their very first meeting.
Then, shortly after Taylor’s fledgling relationship with Marvel star Tom Hiddlestone ended, reports emerged that the pair had begun dating.
The pair have been dating since at least 2017 but prefer to keep a much more private relationship than many celebrity couples.
Both Taylor and Joe tend not to speak publicly about their relationship, and the pair often attend events separately in an attempt to keep their personal and private lives apart.
That hasn’t stopped Taylor sending fans wild by slipping in lyrics about her boyfriend into her work, and plenty of rumours have swirled over the years that the pair could be engaged.

But who is Joe exactly?
The Mary Queen of Scots star was born in Tunbridge Wells, before his family moved a little further north to Crouch End in London.
He learned his craft at the National Youth Theatre, and appeared in a number of smaller productions before finally hitting the big screen in 2016 with a lead role in Bill Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk.

Joe quickly made a name for himself and has appeared alongside A-list actors like Oscar Isaacs, Ben Kingsley, and Margot Robbie.
He is probably best known for his antagonistic role in 2018 film Boy Erased, and for playing Robert Dudley in Mary Queen of Scots.
He was also part of the team that won a Grammy for Album of the Year in 2021 for girlfriend Taylor’s Folklore.
While Joe has long since left his Kent roots behind, many will still be surprised to know that arguably the world’s biggest pop star is dating a boy from Tunbridge Wells.
