There are long delays on the M25 in Kent tonight (Thursday, December 9) after the motorway was closed due to a police incident.

The motorway is currently closed anticlockwise between Junction 6 at Godstone and Junction 5 for the M26, near Sevenoaks.

It was initially closed in both directions but clockwise lanes have now reopened.

Traffic information service Inrix said: “M25 anticlockwise closed, queueing traffic due to police incident between J6 A22 (Godstone) and J5 M26 J5.

“The road was closed in both directions, Clockwise lanes have now been reopened.”

Kent Police are at the scene, National Highways said.

Police said it followed an incident which led to a pedestrian being seriously injured.
