M25 traffic was held this afternoon (Friday) as car crashed into the barriers. The incident was reported by Inrix traffic monitoring at 5.20pm.

The incident was affecting traffic on the clockwise M25. It took place between junction 4 for Orpington and Junction 5 for the M26.

Inrix said: “All traffic being temporarily held and queueing traffic due to accident on M25 clockwise from J4 (Orpington) to J5 M26 J5. A car has hit the barriers at the side of the road.”

National Highways said: “There is currently approx. 3.5 miles of congestion on approach adding at least 45 minutes to journey times.”
