Carriage Crest Teacher Honored

CC_Award Carriage Crest Elementary Teacher Linda Nelson was selected as Sound Credit Union’s June Educator of the Month. She received a $500 classroom scholarship and treats for her class.

Nelson is a teacher dedicated to educating her students through the belief that every child deserves an opportunity to learn. Mary Cropley nominated Nelson and said, “Mrs. Nelson cares about her students and works to educate them while giving them confidence and a stronger sense of self. She applies good management techniques for her curriculum and maintains firm, but fair, discipline.”

Cropley also noted that Nelson is continually looking for ways to keep her students motivated and challenged while learning.

“It is exciting to see how the children develop throughout the year and learn with her guidance,” she said. “Her students trust her, like her and appear to be comfortable communicating with her and their fellow classmates. It is apparent that she cares for the children and loves to teach them. I can’t state enough what a stellar teacher and role model Mrs. Nelson is for her students.”

“The Educator of the Month program recognizes the tremendous impact educators make in our communities,” said Sound Credit Union VP of Public Relations Jennifer Reed. “We are humbled to be able to support our local educators. By helping students develop a desire to learn, Mrs. Nelson is opening a whole new world for them. We’re pleased we have the opportunity to help recognize educators who are connecting with students and making a difference in our community.”
