Police arrest parcel theft suspect and seize vehicle after car chase

A tactical police operation between two forces led to a driver being arrested on suspicion of parcel thefts after he failed to stop for officers on Thursday night.

Police from Met Police Bexley, Kent Police RPU and an Armed Response Vehicle were forced to deploy Tactical Pursuit and Containment (TPAC) measures to halt a vehicle linked with criminal activity in south-east London.

After the suspect failed to stop when ordered to pull over by police, three patrol cars managed to bring the vehicle to a safe standstill.

The driver has been linked to a series of parcel thefts and has been remanded in custody at Bexley pending further police enquiries.

The car has also been taken by police.

Kent Police tweeted: “#RPU1 worked in unison with #ARV @KPTacOps & @MPSBexley to #TPAC this vehicle in #Dartford. The vehicle and it’s occupant had been linked to a series of parcel thefts in South East London. 1 male now settling into Bexley Custody & vehicle seized. #TeamWork BB.”
